156 logements, IMGP Centr'halles
Located in Clichy-sous-Bois in Seine-Saint-Denis, the site will soon benefit from a Grand Paris Express station. This new transport link paves the way for the construction of 156 housing units and ground-floor local shops.
The highly attractive site will also host the city’s future covered market, complementing the existing open-air market, with bi-weekly activity and stalls bringing life to the street throughout the week.
This major development addresses current challenges related to housing and commercial revitalization in the Paris region.
A virtuous urban ecosystem
At the urban scale, a truly virtuous ecosystem is being established: local vegetable production, on-site sales, and composting of market waste, all linked to the large food hall and the open-air market, which is widely appreciated in the region. This system helps shape the living environment of the future station district.
A connected, multifaceted site
Connected to the future Grand Paris Express station designed by EMBT Miralles, the site is organized as a mosaic of spaces, with the “Anatole France” market as its core. Highly popular, this open-air market initiates a multisite urban reflection linking the municipalities of Clichy-sous-Bois and Montfermeil.
A shared urban and metropolitan identity
The project resonates with the three hubs of the new district — the Market, the Ateliers Médicis, and the Station — and the synergies between them. This new identity is rooted in local history as well as in that of the future Metropolis.
The Anatole France – Utrillo axis: a living connection
Designed as the backbone of the district, this mixed-use axis balances exchanges between the two municipalities, between commerce (the market) and culture (the Ateliers Médicis). It promotes connection rather than separation, bringing commerce to Montfermeil and culture to Clichy.
A hybrid, adaptable architectural project
-The market: a food hall and specialized retail spaces conceived as a multifunctional, evolving environment. Connected to the open-air market and the city, it features a removable façade opening onto the forecourt, facilitating fluid circulation and spatial flexibility.
-The housing: 156 collective housing units designed to adapt to the evolving needs of residents. Thanks to flexible construction systems, the homes can be extended, reconfigured, and adapted to social diversity, supporting pathways to home ownership.
-Rooftop agricultural production: an urban farm enabling year-round cultivation of fresh fruits and vegetables, generating jobs and contributing to the vibrancy of the neighborhood.
